BALLERINA BUTTERFLY

Claire got her recital costume yesterday at dance and was able to try it on and "practice" her routine! Pretty cute, huh?

Pioneer Program

Madeline in her bonnet and apron!

Last night we attended Madeline's 1st grade Pioneer program, a unit that she has been studying for a month now! She got a roar from the crowd when she followed the line "those born in Kansas are called Jayhawks" with "but those born in Manhattan are called WILDCATS, GO CATS!".

We are all going a little coo-coo around here waiting for the arrival of spring! I'm done with the winter wardrobe and moving on....even if it means she freezes at school :)

THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING

I always think that I want my kids out of the house until they are gone! Somehow, it's just not a home without the constant chatter, fighting and giggles that make childhood. The girls are having a few nights at their Grandma and Grandpa Crocker's and I can't believe how quiet my house is!!! I must admit, I don't like it...

Don't get me wrong, Jack still provides a fair amount of din, but it's just not the same. That being said, it brings me to another point. Do you all remember when you were 1st time parents??? Remember how hard you thought it was??? Now that I am a mother of 3, removing 2 and going back to 1 is a CAKE WALK. It's the easiest thing that I have ever done :)

I am anxiously awaiting tomorrow when my sassy duo gets home and brings the pulse back into this house.

BRING ON THE CATS!!!

Look for me in CRIMSON tomorrow!!! The Wildcat fans are going to be in white this year, a cleaver twist to last years "black out", so I should stand out pretty well! Wouldn't you think they would want everyone to wear purple???
I don't claim to understand these peeps, I just live with them and love them :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TUCKER!

Happy 9th Birthday to our first baby! Seriously, how many dogs do you know that are patient and big enough to carry a 4o+ pounder around.

Tucker may be a big pain in the a**, but I could not ask for a more patient dog for my children. He has had his ears and tail pulled so many times and never 1 since act of aggression! He is a true testament to his breed!

UPDATE ON MATILDA....

So with a heavy heart, I took Matilda to the Riley Co. Humane Society today to drop her off with her new foster parent. When I dropped her off, I discovered not only was Matilda a Matt, but had a identity chip implanted! I was a little worried that something had happened to the owner and that is why they hadn't answered the ad I put in the paper.

When we got home from dinner tonight and pulled into the garage, I was sad to see it empty and Matt told me, "we can keep him if you want, call and tell them we want him back".

Okay done, I am thinking. Then we listened to our messages and found out that they had found his owners, who had lost him during a move and they were "thrilled" to have him back!

I can't tell you how nice it is to give my daughters a happy ending to this story, I am going to rest easy knowing that he is home where he belongs :)

Just found out that he had been missing since AUGUST! His owners have children (as I had suspected) and they were all broken hearted when he disappeared. They had just assumed that he was dead. My heart is full now, knowing that I could be a part of a happy ending!

HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE???

Okay, REALLY, really! How stupid can you be??? You are one of the WORLD'S greatest athletes and not only do you smoke pot (nothing fundamentally wrong with that) but you are DUMB enough to let someone take a picture of you doing it! WOW!!!

MEET MATILDA....

Some how, some way this darling little thing showed up at our front door Friday morning. I don't know if she thought our house looked generous or what, but she hasn't left yet. The girls are smitten with her and Jack is terrified by her. She spends her days on the front porch in a flower pot and her nights in the garage. I am REFUSING (much to my own surprise) to keep her as our own and hope that the Riley County Humane Society will find a good home for her later this week.

Until then, she will follow the girls whenever they are outside and be our temporary boarder! If anyone is interested, she really is a sweet cat (if that can be said about a cat) and will make some little boy/girl very happy.......
BTW, I plan on getting rid of the Merry Christmas wallpaper soon!
